Charities Support Local Community

The Oldington and Foley Park Community Network has been supporting residents of the Oldington and Foley Park ward for 12 years. Originally set up as a small community project OFPCN has had significant success in securing ongoing finances and now employs over 30 staff working across a wide range of projects not only in Oldington and Foley Park, but also in Broadwaters, The Walshes and across the Wyre Forest.

Established in April 2004, The Network (Worcestershire) was set up by OFPCN to deal with the refurbishment of household electrical appliances. The project has been recognised nationally as a model of best practice for the sector and on the back of this has been successful in securing an innovative finance package with Venturesome an initiative of the Charities Aid Foundation. Increasing to over 20 staff during 2006 the Network is piloting partnerships with local retailers and charity shops to extend the services it offers to Worcestershire and beyond.
