Business Disposal of ELECTRICAL WASTE

As a business - disposal of your "end of life" Electrical or Electronic Equipment can be difficult..... Let us solve that problem for you!

From 1st July 2007 all businesses disposing of electronic equipment must ensure that it is correctly processed under the terms of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive.  The WEEE directive is designed to ensure that poisonous substances are prevented from entering landfill sites and recycling of materials is maximised.  It also states that REUSE of equipment must be prioritised.  The Network is currently in the process of becoming an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility for WEEE, allowing us to issue our own waste transfer notes, which we expect to complete by July.  In the mean time we are able to accept any items that might be suitable for reuse. Specialising in reuse since 2004, The Network (Worcestershire) offer a complete service for unwanted equipment, from PC’s and monitors to the fridge from the staff room.  All items are processed at our purpose-fitted premises conveniently located between Stourport and Kidderminster, with emphasis on reusing whole items or their components.  If reuse is not practical our team will dismantle each item, enabling us to recycle the vast majority of the constituent parts (we currently reuse or recycle approximately 90% (by weight) of the equipment that we accept.)  Our friendly, helpful staff are able to collect from anywhere in Worcestershire.

Remember, your supplier will not be obliged to take back items purchased prior to 13th August 2005 - we can collect or accept most items but are unable to reuse gas appliances – LPG, cylinder or mains.  We can recycle them but we are unable to test gas and electrical appliances in the same workshop, we go through too many engineers (and ceilings).
