Advice Shop Client counterThe Network's Advice Shop offers advice on all sorts of social issues. Whether you are looking for general advice or specialised information, the Advice Shop's professional and experienced staff will either help you directly or refer you to someone who can.

The Advice Shop is accredited to the matrix Quality Standards and a member of the Hereford and Worcester nextstep Partnership. This ensures that any information you give will be completely confidential and any advice given will be completely impartial. Any records are kept under the terms of the Data Protection Act.

What we can offer you

We aim to provide a warm friendly service, whether you contact us by phone or face to face. We will provide a free confidential and impartial service, regardless of ethnic background, abilities, religious beliefs, age or gender. Our staff are trained for their particular role and regularly updated on information, opportunities and legislation.
All information will be kept safe and secure under the terms of Data Protection Act, and will not be given out without your prior consent.


What we expect of you

When you are referred to the Network Advice Shop by Jobcentre Plus, you will be given an appointment for a specific time and date. It is important that you arrive on time for this appointment. In the event that you are not able to attend an appointment please contact the Network Advice Shop on 01562 513399 extention 403, preferably at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Please bring any certificates for school, college or training courses attended.
  • Any certificates such as Health and Safety or First Aid for example, would be useful.
  • Please could you provide names of companies you have worked for and the approximate dates e.g. the year(s) that you worked for them.
  • To take the needs of other Advice Shop users and staff into account.
  • To respect the non-smoking policy at the Advice Shop.

The Network Advice Shop provides free confidential and completely impartial career advice.
The Network Advice Shop is part of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire nextstep partnership and is accredited to the Matrix Quality Standards.

Friendly advisers will discuss your previous experience and look at where you want to travel with your career.  They will look at all the options available to you, point out any advantages or disadvantages and with you prepare an action plan for you to follow.

Debt Advice

We have a Debt Adviser based at The Network Advice Shop who is able to deal with debts on your behalf. Prioritising debts, dealing with creditors and offering to make affordable payments to them. For this to be done effectively, you should bring every available piece of information that you have regarding the debts.

If it is necessary for us to cancel your appointment we will make every effort to notify you within a reasonable time and to book another appointment with regard to the urgency of your case. If we cannot help directly then we will be able to refer you on to agencies that have the required expertise to deal with your needs. If you cannot attend an appointment then please contact the Advice Shop to let us know, Your appointment can then be rebooked. This should be within a week.
